A mental health platform where anyone can talk to a certified listener anonymously — no sign-up, no judgement. Built for a Pune startup that used it to win a place in IIM Mumbai's incubation programme.
What they were facing.
In India, asking for mental health support still carries stigma — and most people who need to talk have nowhere safe to do it. TellMe's founders wanted an anonymous space where anyone could reach a trained listener in minutes, with an experience that felt warm rather than clinical. The hard part: real-time matching and true anonymity, shipped fast enough to prove traction before their IIM Mumbai incubation review.
How we solved it.
We built TellMe anonymity-first — a session starts with zero personal data. Listeners are matched in real time by availability and expertise over a WebSocket connection, with in-app chat, session timers, certified listener profiles, and a private mood journal that keeps users coming back. The interface is deliberately calm and uncluttered to lower anxiety on the very first visit, and an admin dashboard handles listener onboarding and session analytics. We optimised for speed-to-launch without boxing in the startup as it scales.
